Bristlecone Pine, 3,200 years old and still going strong.

You will be very disappointed shooting this tree at the right time of day (i.e. early morning) because "somebody" put a sign in front of it attesting to tree's age. A "sign" directly in front of the tree, can you believe that, what a great way to screw up a picture! :-(

Unfortunately, the late afternoon illumination is blocked by the nearby mountain peak(s) so fairly early in the afternoon is about it for shooting this tree; the good news is you will be on the other side of the tree and the sign will be hidden.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II
1/100s f/18.0 at 21.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto
