RIP Bob you will be missed
Hi Bob, your photos from Florida are really fantastic! My family and I are traveling from late January to late February 2015 to Southwest Florida. Your blog with all the beautiful photos and the informations are a very good preparation for this trip. I would like to send you a personal message for some detailed questions. Would that be possible? Please send me a message at my provided email address. You can also reach me via my website “natur-linse.de”. Thank you for your effort! Jan Goedelt
Hi Bob. I wanted to make sure you knew about and were attending the 2nd Annual Nature Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival that is taking place March 20-23rd in Pasco, Hernando and Citrus Counties.
Superstar birder Greg Miller headlines a list of some of Florida's most experienced field guides.
We would also really appreciate it if you could share information about the festival with your blog readers. We want as many birders as possible to know about this exciting event.
There is a website and a Facebook page on the Festival. You can simply search for those to get more information.
Thanks for your support.
Diane Jones, on behalf of Visit Citrus
Hello, I wanted to comment on your other blog, actually. We at birdfeeders.com and Perky Pet, feel that you are deserving of our 'Eye in the Sky' award. If you'd like to accept and discuss this further, please send me a message at my provided email address.
Thanks for all you do,
Hi, I wanted to find out if you give permission to artists to paint from your images?
Thank you for the beautiful photographs, especially the ones of birds! Found your blog through The Essential Beachcomber. Have a great day!
Thoroughly enjoyed your galleries. I will be starting a new job in Ft. Myers next week so I'm looking forward to settling in a getting to know the great areas for photography. Hope to bump into you one day.
A veritable library of wildlife and scenic images!!! I thoroughly enjoyed viewing the galleries! GREAT Work!!!
I have been enjoying your posts of Florida birds. Wonderful work. I will be in Florida soon for a trip and was interested in visiting the Cape Coral area to see and photograph the burrowing owls. You have some wonderful photos from Festival Park, but I have done numerous searches for that park in the Cape Coral area and cannot find it. Perhaps it is known by a different name? Can you provide location info or a link to it?
Thanks for posting your beautiful photography and your blog reports!
Superb photography, very inspirational. Best J
Hennie & Lies Lammers
The pictures are wonderful Beautiful images of nature and wildlife
Great galleries you have! The owls are fantastic. Ospreys too! and .. and..
I enjoyed walking through them.
Hello, Bob. I am an admirer of your stunning photographs. Some friends and I have a birding group of about 50 members. It is called Venice Area Birding Association. (VABA) We have been to Harns Marsh quite a few times. The trip leader, Steve Friedman and I both enjoy nature photography. We were hoping you may have some suggestions of certain areas of Harns and other sites in that area. We would appreciate any suggestions. We are planning a trip to Harns very soon. I thank you before hand. Abbie Banks
Hi Bob, I've been following your pbase photos for sometime now in fact you are on my "favorites"page. I also follow several other bird photographers. Additionally I read a handful of blogs on birding and bird photography. One that I particularly like is a Florida bird photographer's blog by this guy named Bob Pelkey. I've read that blog now for quite a while - duh? Do you know that you write a blog????? God help me! james
Your birdpictures are great! You have something to be proud of here!
Hi Sheila, Your image may be viewed here . . .
Your gallery is beautiful. I was looking for the photos that you took of me and my friend back in early April. We were in Ft. Myers. Sheila and Kay. You took a photo of her while she was making a phone call on the beach. Let me know if you still have those. I'd love to see them.
Super Fotos !!!
I am a Hobby-Zoologist from Austria and I work on a list of all bird species (only for myself and personal use). I want to add to all the animals in the list a picture, so I want to ask you, if I am allowed, to copy some pictures from your picture gallery by pbase in my lists - only for private use! I will not create a homepage, I will not sell the photos and I will not publish the photos - I only want to add them to my lists.
I am looking forward to a permission to copy some photos,
I've been looking for a photo of Osprey male & female together. I found your photo of Osprey Mates II, Osprey at Lovers Key State Park at New Pass Fort Myers Beach. I would like to have a copy of this photo in black and white.
Please advise how I can do this by either ordering a copy through you or having permission to make a copy.
Bob, thanks for your thoughtfulness this am at Harns Marsh. Obviously, I found both sites and appreciate your efforts. Wish I had picked your brains today. regards jim gibbons. Will view both sites later to fully appreciate your work
Thanks for taking the pictures and the tip about how to avoid getting the camera wet but getting as low to the sand as possible. I'll leave my email so you can get in touch with me, so I'll be able to send you the pictures I took of you.
Nice meeting you!
I received your incredible bird collection from Ted S, a photographer friend of mine from Michigan. It really gave me an opportunity to study the birds in various stages from flight to perching...Going to check out your galleries and other collections.
Bob - Was nice running into you today at Harns Marsh! Fun photography for sure! I got a look at that Crested Caracara on your blog, and I think he may actually be carrying some food there. Hard to tell for sure though without being able to zoom in.
Hi Bob. Met you at publix- you idenified our "scarlet tanger". The photos are beautiful. Seeing more and more varieties at our feeder and water stations. Talk to you soon, Michele
Hi Bob, Did you make it to the Blue trail today? I had to be at two soccer games this afternoon so my visit will have to wait. It was nice to meet a fellow shooter.
My family ran into you at the Little Estero Critical Wildlife Area last week and you were kind enough to take our photo...all 17 of us! We were the large family from three states--you spoke to my husband Paul. We would love to somehow purchase the photo on your website and see if there are others that you took that turned out good as well. Please email me and let me know! Thanks.
Nice to meet you at the Little Estero Critical Wildlife Area this week. Could you email me? Then I can make contact with you and send you our website and a newspaper article.
Quite a collection. The love you have for your work shows.
Just wondering if you ever got lucky with Scarlet?
I am still looking every other day.
I just got around to looking at your work and have to say you have some incredible images! I don't know if you remember me but I am the Motorsports Photographer you met at Estero Beach in mid April with my husband, two daughters and mom and dad. You took our photo during a sunset and told us we could view our image in one of your galleries, but I am not quite sure which one you told me to go to. If you recall the image could you please direct me in the right direction? Thanks so much for your time and it was a pleasure meeting you!
Bob -- I did take your advice and drove to see the burrowing owls behind the Library at Cape Coral. Well worth the trip. I also wanted to alert you that I saw 2 scissor-tailed flycatchers by CR 833 near STA-5. You can my shots of the flycatcher and the burrowing owls at the aba gallery: gallery.aba.org/thumbnails.php?album=lastupby&cat=0&uid=26&page=1

Have you seen the White-tailed Eagles.
Thank you for your comment about the Steller`s Eider. I have tried to fix the picture.
You have a very nice gallery.
Hi Bob ,
Finally got to visit your site today. Iwas in Marco Island with my wife this past May to stay with my Dad for a week. The one day I took my camera and took a walk up thru Tigertail beach and up around to I think its called Hideaway beach uparound the tip there . Thats where I came across you taking photos with your camera and you gave me your card and told me to check out your site because you had taken pictues of me taking pictures of the birds and other wildlife .I was able to get in your site now because the last time I visited there seemed to be some techincal or rebuild problem going on.So I was wondering if the picture/pictures you took of me turned out or weren't good enough to post. Since you told me to check the site to look at them I was suprised that I didn't see them. Also I was curious if I can post any of the pictures I took down at Marc Island on this site or not . I was going to try and call you but there was no phone number on your card.I was in a couple galleries and there are some very nice pictures there.Have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year.

I really admire your work with the bird captures, I hopeI can do as well with my D80. I found you as Im researching the 70-300 VR. I would like to know whether you are using a TeleConverter between your D80 and the 70-300? Keep shooting, your images are a joy.
Thanks for your very kind words:-) All I know about the slide show is what comes with the gallery. I do not know how to transfer the code for that into a custom spot on the page. that would be very nice though! I of course had a great time looking through your galleries!
Hi mr.Bob so Beautiful Photos. Thank you for the Pictuers...... Good job
If you can spare some time, I would appreciate very much your comments on the gallery:
Hope to hear from you. Thanks.
Beautiful photos. We saw you on Bunche Beach today (my husband told you the sheephead story). Thank you for the pictures of us and the kids.
Beautiful photos - I love the nature/bird photos the most. You've captured some remarkable moments.
I just purchased the Nikon 70-300mm VR lens for my Nikon D90 and after looking at your galleries, I believe I will love this lens!
Just saw your nice comments about my pics. Most of the Florida birds were taken at the rest area on I275 exit 2B. Latest scenery pic are taken with P&S out side window without looking at camera, then cropped to show what I see while traveling.

Bob your galleries are just fabulous and thank you so much for identifying the birds and the locations.
Remember me - your previous neighbor, Carol Claussen Holly? Mom just sent me your images. Gorgeous. Profound. Artistic. Remarkable. I try to photograph birds, but haven't had much success - better with flowers (they don't fly away).
The pictures are wonderful thank you for showing me this web site

Thanks for your kind comments Bob. I enjoy photographing the birds, but, our small island is not that rich in birds, or perhaps I have not explored the right places and seasons yet.
You have excellent shoots. You seem to be an expert in this field. Congratulations.
Bob,your photos are outstanding, I am sure National Geographic would be most interested in so many of them.
