Malacca (Melaka), a state in West Malaysia situated along coastal line. A 200km drive from Singapore. Once an important port during the 19th Century where it was ruled by the Portugese, Dutch and the British. This state consist of a rich culture and history.
The people there are very friendly. Going there reminds me of my childhood during the 70s in Singapore. The Jonker street comes alive during the night where the town people came out and set up their roadside shops. Many of the dying trades in Singapore can be found there which makes the place unique. The arts and craft/antiques are attractive too.
