This pagoda was built in 1131 and has experienced many overhauls. Beside worshipping Buddha, the pagoda is also dedicated to Minh Không, a Zen Master and a good physician who cured King Lư Thần Tông. Thanks to his great service, Minh Không was granted the title “National Master” and his statue was carved and placed at Lư Quốc Sư pagoda after his death. Statues in this pagoda were carved under the Lê Dynasty (15th century). Visitors should notice a group of stone statues of Long Nữ Thiện Tŕ carved on a 3-meter stone column, which are decorated with patterns of lotus, chrysanthemum, hoa thị and bodhi leaves. The statues bear the 18th century art style. There are statues of Bonze Tư Đạo Hạnh and his parents, monk Giác Hải; all of them are characteristic of the 18th-19th century art style.
