Jimmy,Long time not any news from you? Still working on my family history .Have my civil war records for Isaac Smith,David Shelnutt,George Washington Pennington,Benjamin elliott,Joseph S Tinney on my dads.In the granddaughters and great granddaughers club,and on my mamas have Uriah Taylor and William Bradberry.Started gathering material for the last book I am gonna dig up any information I have no more room for all this material thats been gathered over these last 35 years .Working several hours a day and going a lot to find any information ,that I could. Hi my name is Donna Collier and my Great Great Grandfather is Isaac Andrew Smith. He and Rachel Catherine (Pennington) Smith are the parents of..... William Andrew "Billy" Smith 1858 – 1936 Henry Alexander Smith 1860 – ? James Erwin Smith 1861 – 1939 Francin C. Smith 1862 – ? Luvisa (Luvicia?) Angelia Smith 1865 – 1944 Stephen Franklin Smith 1865 – 1956 George T. Smith 1867 – 1945 Nancy L. Smith 1868 – ? Martha E. Smith 1870 – 1900 Mary Smith 1872 – 1956 Andrew Houston Smith 1874 – 1876 John Burton Smith 1877 – 1948 Sarah Elizabeth Smith 1879 – 1947 John Burton Smith is my Great Grandfather. He married Annie MelDonia Thomas (1879 – 1923) and they had 10 children together. After she passed he then married Mary Mackie Etta Marks (1889 – 1987)and they had 5 children together. I also saw the name Doss mentioned in some of the other pictures. From what I know Rufus Doss married Genary Margiebell Smith who is William Andrew "Billy" Smith's daughter. I am also working on a Family Tree of the surnames Smith and Collier. My Grandmother Elise Elizabeth Smith (daughter of John Burton Smith) married James Bruce Collier who is the son of James Madison Collier and Nancy Dee (James) Collier. If anyone has any other info or pics or can fill in some blanks for me I would really appreciate it!!

All my youth I heard the names Burleson, Franks, Markhan (Chester in particular), Thompson,Doss & Benefield mentioned as tho they were neighbors. Mom May Lee Miller Logan grew up in the area circa 1909-1926 and knew many of these people. Her parents were John Gordon Miller and Minnie Lee Bryant Miller of Yampertown. She married Claud Logan, son of Addison Logan, Brother of Ben Logan (Guin). Advise if any photos or information available. Thank you.

Larissa Cook, AHardy Benefield has a picture in one of the Fayette county Alabama books in his old confederate uniforms,I don't know if that is the one you descend from or not.I have a lot on the Benefield family and Shelnutt .I have a 16-20 picture of the Dave Shelnutt and mary Benefield family ,my dad was George Elliott .he passes away 1999 age 96

Hello, I was searching the webb and typed in Benefield photos and came across your photos. What caught my attention was Mary Benefield. I have been trying to do a family tree and would love to know if there is any connection. I don't have a lot of information, but mt Great great grandfather was Hardy M. Benefield and is listed born in Alabama on the 1880 census. My great grandfather was Calvin Benefield born in Mississippi. My grandfather was Wilson Cecil Benefield born in Mississippi and my father was Wilson David Benefield born in Arkansas. If there is any possibility that there is a connection, please contact me. Hi, my name is Dale Taylor (son of Darlene Shelnut Taylor) and you have miss identified the gentleman in the top row, left. This is my grandfather William David Shelnut, not Henry David Shelnut. Henry was the name of William David's brother who is pictured in the next row #16 from the left. I have the same picture in my album.
