In Memory of Haanik

Hannik (Niki) was a 16 year old Dutch Warmblood mare that added a spark of life to all that knew her. She died January 18, 2007 and will be missed and remembered. Owned my Nori Lamphere and shown recently by Rachel and Jordon Franz and Amber Britton. Thank you Niki for the pleasure you brought. Remember the good times.

Nori, what a great tribute to Niki here. The memories you hold in your heart will last a lifetime, and I can see she gave a lot of joy in her life. She's got a lot of friends in her pasture, along with a few of mine.

Nori, I was terribly sadden to hear of Niki's passing! I will always be grateful for what you and Niki taught me about driving. I have never driven a more sensative, intelligent mare in my life. Driving up in the mountains, going by HUGE logging equipment (that was operating at the tme)and Niki didn't even bat an eye! What an experience. She will be sorely missed.

One time, Nori let me drive Niki. It was my second driving experience. (in my whole life) We absolutely flew down Edwards Drive. I cant even describe how fun it was. Niki was really jazzed. When we came back she was trotting really strongly and then snorted loudly at another horse in a pasture. Nori just burst out laughing. I can still hear her laugh. I will always remember that. Nori, My heart goes out to you, I know the pain of loosing a great friend. Rest assured that she is grazing in knee deep alfalfa near a shady crystal spring with my Annie, and that she will be there waiting for you when your time comes to cross the bridge. Nori, I recall speaking with you about driving and techniques, and most of all, Niki. I remember the warmth and enthusiasm in your voice as you told me about training issues and overcoming them, and the work it took and the love it engendered between the two of you. I am so sorry that you lost Niki. I know she was fortunate to have you and you were indeed fortunate to have her beauty and heart in your life. And from the photos below, it looks like her stunning reaching trot was no small thing either! Many warm thoughts your way.
