On May 23rd, 2015 the Lily Basin trail #81 was cleared from the two trailheads (Stock and Hiker) to the snow line at the 4.5+ mile mark. This is just as the trail begins to be in the Alpine type of area and usually has few if any logs across it from there through to the Basin. The snow at that point was several feet deep. The road up though the gravel pit is no better this year and maybe worse. Anyone planning to go to the trailhead with stock should be dissuaded from trying to trailer through that bad spot. They can park in the gravel pit and ride from there to the Trailhead; a distance of about 5 miles. Anyone planning to drive through the pit should plan on having a 4x4 or they may not make it.
