Keeping with my winter exercise program I cut this dying hemlock for firewood. The forked tree presented a little challenge and would not have made it much easier with a chainsaw or not. The tree was 13" diameter on the smaller section and 18" on the larger and about 120' tall. The hardest problem was falling in line with the two forks rather then perpendicular which would have been pretty easy. In addition to the required direction of fall when I cut into it I found that most of the hart wood was not sound. I did end up getting it on the ground where I wanted it.
