The plan was to improve the performance of this old pruning saw.
The good part, the saw cuts twice as fast after setting and sharpening.
The other part when compared to modern saws is that it may not compare to them because; the saw steel is very soft and may not hold an edge long, there are fewer teeth and the rake angle is not what is used in current saws.
In the end it works much better then it did but for cutting larger logs I'm not going to replace my vintage crosscut saw with this saw. What took about four minutes with this saw would take about 1/2 minute with a good crosscut saw.

Testing cutting speed - 30 sec. two hand, 63 sec one hand
