Bayard Cutting Arboretum

Located in Oakdale, NY, it is the former estate of Mr. & Mrs. William Bayard Cutting. Development for it was begun in 1887 utilizing plans conceived by the landscape firm of Frederick Law Olmstead. It is now part of the Long Island State Park Region.

hi there, your pictures are wonderful. I am a teacher and am creating an imovie for an inservice class that I am taking. I have chosen to highlight Bayard Cutting Arboretum in my project. Although I have taken many pictures, none are as wonderful as yours. I would like to include a few of your shots in my presentation (with credit given to you, of course). I will not, however do this without your permission. Please note, this project WILL NOT be making money for anyone and wll only be shared on our District Site. My childhood memories have just returned with these lovely pictures. My father was the caretaker here and I lived in "the big house" from the time I was about 8 or 9. My brothers and I had a lot of fun playing with the cop's kid that lived there as well. Now that I live in Florida it is nice to see and show these pictures to everyone. As a kid you don't appreciate the scenery and the tranquaility of the place. Thank again for the beautiful pictures.

nice photos! I recently visited and its even more stunning in person,I'll be returning to have lunch at the cafe tommorow,(sorry to rub it in).
