We drove to Thirsk, the real home of “James Herriot” and took the tour of his house as well as the “TV rooms” of the filmed show. It was a very interesting experience and I learned a lot more than I previously knew about Mr. Alf White. Highly recommend.
The weather was nice and it seems I couldn’t drive more than a mile without stopping to take another photo or five.
What a beautiful part of the world.

I haven’t mentioned that my soul was in peace; I had made reservations for the remainder of our stay except tonights and we finally re-booked another room at RAF Alconbury. I used Priceline Negotiator, armed with advice from numerous TA reviews, and got a room at the Park Lane Marriott for what I considered a good price.
As I mentioned we drove to RAF Alconbury, we had (another) nice dinner at the three Horseshoes in Abbots Ripton.
