2008-05-10 Cypripedium in the Upstate of South Carolina

2008-05-10 Day trip to upper Greenville County, South Carolina for Cypripedium acaule. Every year around Mother's Day, the pink lady's-slipper orchid can be found in the open pine woods of upstate South Carolina. As was expected, there were fewer plants this year than last year. I won't speculate on the reason, but I hope it is not a trend.
