2006-07-29 Orchids in Upstate South Carolina

2006-07-29 Day trip to upstate South Carolina Heritage Preserve for Tipularia discolor and Goodyera pubescens. This year, the Tipularia discolor plants are more than two weeks late in blooming. I expected to see more plants in full bloom that I found. It's been hot, but this location has gotten a good bit of rain over the summer. Check out the very long nectary spurs on the flowers in the first photo.
