2006-03-19 Devil's Fork State Park, Oconee County, SC

2006-03-19 Devil's Fork State Park, Oconee County, South Carolina. Home of the rare Oconee Bells (Shortia galacifolia) and Sweet Pinesap (Monotropsis odorata) also known as Pigmy Pipes. Interesting note: to find the pigmy pipes, you first have to smell them (strong sweet clove odor), then crawl along the ground on hands and knees until you find them in the leaf litter.
