This very old railway line, built around 1880, was heavily used for passenger and freight trains until the end of WWII. Then, passenger service was discontinued and freight service diminished steadily over time, until it stopped around 1985. For several years, it was used as a hiking trail or a car-free space for walking dogs. . .

Then, it was decided that the line, with new modern tracks, could be used for a new modern passenger service. . .
