The capital city of Tenerife, and, in fact, Spain's largest port! Okay, I've been corrected. Our guidebook said it was Spain's largest port. But my correspondents below indicate that Barcelona may well be Spain's largest port, and I have, in fact, only served to propagate a filthy lie... So be it.

My dear Canarian correspondents,

I'm sure that there is a great rivalry between Gran Canaria and Tenerife for more tourist traffic. From the little I was able to see of your islands, I believe that Tenerife already has too much tourism. I expect the same is true for Gran Canaria. There was FAR TOO MUCH automobile traffic. Lanzarote and La Gomera were more appealing, partly because there were fewer people on the roads!

I'am agreement with Pedro. Infortunately there are in Tenerife many politics problems about the massive tourism in Gran Canaria island and for this reason, tenerife wants to monopolize all the publicity and dismantling the Gran Canaria tourist supremacy. Thanks.

Dear Jim, I'm a canary boy and I wish you too luck for your magnificents pictures but you have to know Tenerife port is NOT the Spain's largest port. That's a dirty lie from tenerife people. The largest port is on Barcelona. Thanks for your galleries!!!
