Last autumn William collected a bag full of conkers, after a few weeks in his bedroom they started to get a bit smelly so I put them under a hedge and thought no more about them.
This week I noticed that they had started to sprout and most of the shoots are going down into the soil. I wonder how many will make it to full grown horse chestnuts.
