The 60th Anniversary of V E Day was celebrated today (Sunday) with a Fly Past over Buckingham Palace, a lot of the WW2 planes that took part are housed at Duxford the old WW2 Air Station, now part of the Imperial War Museum. So this was a logical gathering point for the air craft to assemble, the modern planes that took part met up with those that set of from Duxford after the WW2 planes from all over the World assembled and performed a fly past over the old Air Station, which had taken the oppertunity to hold a flying day, with dozens of its exhibits taking to the air. It was sunny all day, very hot and a great day out.
I am told that the Lancaster bomber released 1,000,000 popies down The Mall leading to The Palace.
