Path into Cwm Idwal

Snowdonia National Park, Wales

The valley (or cwm in Welsh) is named after Idwal the son of an ancient Welsh prince. Legend has it that Idwal was murdered by being drowned in the lake within the valley (Llyn Idwal), pictured here. Legend also states that since that murder, no bird has ever flown over the lake.
