Pier at Trefor

Trefor, Gwynedd

The wooden pier at Trefor, on the north side of the Llyn Peninsula, was used for exporting stone from a nearby quarry. It has clearly suffered damage which must be quite recent. Our guidebook (not that old) stated that the pier was 'popular with tourists and anglers'.

It looks in need of some repair. But I do like piers for their strong lines in photographs.

You would be brave to walk across that pier, shame about the damage, great image of it.

Interesting and well composed documentary shot. With the missing supports this is only going to get worse. "V"

Did you risk walking the full length of the pier, John ?

Sad to see so many of our piers collapsing.
