Walsingham Abbey ruin

Little Walsingham, Norfolk

This arch represents the remains of the east window of the priory church that was situated here. The site has been and remains a site of pilgrimage for Christians - in the 11th century a Saxon noblewoman saw an apparition of the Virgin Mary here.
