New Library Building

Birmingham, England

Birmingham's new central library under construction. The building has been unkindly likened to a pile of old mattresses.

Whoever designed this did a brilliant job. It lends itself, quit obviously, to captures like this that emphasize all those eye catching shapes and details. ~BV~

Great use of shapes and patterns.
The composition works well. V
I think the jury is still out on the look of the building, I am sat on the fence.

Very impressive John (although I can appreciate the old mattresses statement!) V

Certainly a prime target for a love / hate opinion. Personally I like the unusual and look forward to interior images and even more so night images of this fascinating building. "V"

I was thinking it looks like a stack of wrapped presents. Such an unusual design will either become a classic or loathed by the locals.

What a fascinating building and great capture of it. I like that shadow on the left, complements the library! V.
