I remember when my yard looked like this. |
But years later, more often, it looked like this. So... landscaping repair... |
The first step was removing and saving the paving stones from the sidewalk to the rear. |
Then, to handle this kind of repair, you need a backhoe... |
 ... and a mini-bulldozer at the least. |
You dig trenches, lay pipe out to the street and connect the downspouts to the pipes. |
And you cover up the pipe using the same tools. |
Sometimes you need some hand labor added to the machines. |
Both back downspouts now feed into this pipe. |
The back pipe hooks into this one, which connects to the garage downspouts. |
This pipe brings all the water from the side and back to the front. |
Finished?!?!? I sure hope not... |
Now that's more like it. |
 Finished in the back! |
Finished up front as well. And on to the next phase... |
Finally the day arrived when the next phase could begin. And there were trees... |
... and there was sod... |
...and there were all kinds of goodies to go with them. |
First the trees went in along the property line. |
I could hardly believe how fast the work was done. |
I got to see how the sod looked in the back but then had to go to work. |
But oh... oh my... oh, when I got home. This is the right front along the property line. |
Here's how the trees look towards the west... |
... and how they look towards the east. |
Here's the new island with the plum tree and new plantings. |
Here's another look at it... |
 ... and still another. |
The back of the house looks terrific. |
And look what they did by the porch. |
 Hey! It's a ROCK, Mom! |
