Landing at Kai Tak Hong Kong'airport: the "good old time"

At the "good old time" before closing Kai Tak Intl. When had a window seat on right side of the aircraft, one could truely enjoy the gymkhana between Hong Kong sky screapers and the final 30° tilt just before touching the airstrip....
(May 1996 flights from Bali and Paris)

building the current airport...	above the concrete jungle	Here one could check if they didn't towed away his car
...or if one left windows opened...		..so let 's do...	the final tilt !!!!
...align and touch!

Thanks for the memories. The perspective from the units: My brother-in-law lived on the approach to KT in 1989 and you could see the passengers faces as they came in. Watching TV or trying to talk on the phone so frustrating. Unfortunately I did not take any images.

Yes, landing at Kai Tak was amazing! More so, only time I did it, was completely covered by clouds and fog!!! No pics possible!

Those pictures are great to see from the passenger's perspective during the approach into HK airport. I have flown this profile in the 777's simulator at Boeing and was impressed with the view in the cockpit and was curious to know from the rear. Now I know...great documentation.
