Gliding high and far

Ce dimanche le temps était magnifique, trop d'élèves pilotes étant là, il n'y avait pas assez d'instructeurs disponibles. Frédéric, en entrant dans la salle de briefing, proposa d'emmener quelqu'un à bord de son planeur biplace, un superbe Caproni Calif construit en aluminium (1981), pour un vol de campagne: J'ai levé la main...et c'était parti pour plus de 6 heures de vol en tant que passager depuis Buno-Bonneveaux jusqu'au lac de Saint Aignant (après Avallon) puis retour à Buno (total 337 kms) , après avoir plusieurs fois envisagé de se vacher mais être sauvés in extremis par des ascendances providentielles. Une sacrée expérience!

On last Sunday the weather was wonderfull, as too many students were there, not enough intructors were available. Frederic, entering in the briefing room, proposed to take someone on board of his two seats glider, a very nice aluminium-built Caproni Calif (1981) for a long distance flight: I rose my hand...and started a more than 6 hours flight as a passenger from Buno Bonneveaux to St Aignan's lake (near Avallon) and back to Buno after several opportunities thinking about land somewhere in the fields, but saved in extremis by providential updrafts. What an experience!

Estedomingo el tiempo estaba tan maravilloso que demasiado alumnos pilotos habian venido, pues no habia bastante instructores. Frederic entrando en la sala de briefing propusó de llevar alquien a bordo de su planeador, un muy elegante Caproni Calif hecho de aluminio (1981), para hacer un vuelo de larga distancia: Levanté la mano...pues empiezé un vuelo de más de 6 horas como pasajero de Buno Bonneveaux hasta el lago de Saint Aignant para volver a Buno (337 kms ida y vuelta), pensando varais veces aterrizar en cualquer campo, pero fuimos salviado por ascendencias providenciales. ¡Eso fue una experiencia!
