We first met Sonora and her husband Dal when we went to the Saponi-Haliwa Pow-Wow a couple of years ago. My wife Debbie recognized some pottery at a booth from some that she had bought at another pow-wow we had been to. She inquired as to who the artist was and was surprised to hear that she was talking to her. Thus begenning the friendship. Sonora is an award winning artist. One of her credits is the design or the sidewalk at the new Student Union at the University of N.C.
