Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, is known as “The Garden City” because of its many parks and green spaces, which includes the world-renowned Butchart Gardens. Located on the Southern tip of Vancouver Island, the inner harbor boasts the Provincial Capital Building, the nearby Empress Hotel and Fisherman’s Wharf, as well as being a tourist hub for whale watching boat and float plane trips. The pedestrian-only Government Street has numerous shops and restaurants and leads to Market and Bastion squares as well as the second oldest Chinatown in North America which hosts the narrowest street in Canada, Fan Tan Alley.
