Images of Hell’s Gate – British Columbia, Canada, taken in September 2025.
The Fraser River, British Columbia’s longest river, passes through an extremely narrow canyon called Fraser Canyon. The Canadian Pacific Railway completed construction through the canyon in 1884 and the Canadian National Railway followed in 1914. Because of rockslides, a fishway was constructed to aid fish in their path through the canyon. Today this canyon passage is the site of the Hell’s Gate Airtram.
