Fort Macleod – Alberta, Canada

Fort Macleod was established in 1874 by the North-West Mounted Police (NWMP), the predecessors to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Their initial duty was to bring order to the west.

Today, as part of a tradition which started in 1876, the North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) Musical Ride echoes the riding demonstrations of the past.
