Window Rock and The Navajo Nation – Arizona

Images of Window Rock – Arizona, taken in February 2024

Window Rock (Tseghahoodzani) serves as the seat of government and capital of the Navajo Nation. This is home to the largest sovereign Native American nation in North America.

The community is named after the natural sandstone (Entrada Sandstone) window formation which is located in the Window Rock Tribal Park along with a memorial to the nation’s war missing and dead, as well as a statue to honor the World War II Code Talkers - Navajo Nation members who devised a secret military code based on the Navajo language.
