Gunfight at the OK Corral and Boothill Grave Yard – Tombstone Arizona

Images of Gunfight at the OK Corral and Boothill Grave Yard – Tombstone Arizona, taken in May 2023.

Site of one of the most infamous gunfights in the annals of the old west, the O.K. Corral in Tombstone Arizona stands as a reminder of lawlessness and territorial justice which occurred on a regular basis in the late 1800’s. It was here on October 26, 1881 that lawmen Wyatt, Virgil and Morgan Earp, along with Doc Holliday confronted Ike and Billy Clanton and the McLaury brothers, Tom and Frank. When the dust settled, the McLaury brothers and Billy Clanton lay dead with Morgan and Virgil Earp wounded, Doc Holliday grazed by a bullet and Wyatt Earp unscathed.

The dead were laid to rest in the equally famous Boothill Grave Yard, named as such because of the many violent deaths which occurred in the early days of the mining boom town known as Tombstone.
