Wright Brothers National Memorial – North Carolina

Wright Brothers National Memorial at Kill Devil Hill North Carolina commemorates the site of the first flight by a man in a heavier than air powered aircraft on December 17, 1903.

Having visited the Wright Brothers bicycle shop and Huffman Prairie Flying Field in Dayton Ohio earlier this summer where they refined their flying machine, it was crucial that I make a stop to visit the spot of their first flight. Twelve seconds and 120 feet. This is the place where history was made; where man truly broke the bonds of earth and put mankind on a trajectory into the future. Few moments can rival what was started here; it is an accomplishment which technologically moved man forward and continues to affect our everyday lives in countless ways.

Very Nice. I've only see photos which show the sand dunes. Interesting to see the grasses.
