Boston National Historical Park – Massachusetts

Throughout the city of Boston sit historical buildings, halls, churches, battlegrounds and the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world, all protected by the Boston National Historical Park. To guide visitors, the two-and-a-half-mile Freedom Trail was developed in 1951, weaving through the city to each of the famous sites.

Many of these historic sites were places we have all seen and read about when we were in school studying the Revolutionary War. It is a whole other thing to stand in front of them. Most interesting was seeing the gravesites of true patriots like Samuel Adams and John Hancock and to find out individuals were buried stacked one on top of the other to save space in the burying grounds.
