Normally I’m out in the wilderness but when I find myself in an asphalt jungle I like to go to the iconic sections of town; The French Quarter in New Orleans, Fisherman’s Warf in San Francisco, Michigan Avenue in Chicago, The Riverwalk in San Antonio, The Pike Market in Seattle, The Strip in Las Vegas, South Beach in Miami and Duval Street in Key West.

Los Angeles has many interesting areas to explore but only one which fits this mold. Hollywood, world renowned for its movie and television industry ties, it is history, glitz and glamor and the unusual all in one place. From the Walk of Fame and the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre to the Dolby Theater where the industry gathers yearly for its Academy Awards celebration, Hollywood is one of the most recognizable areas in the world. Add the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, resplendent with lights and billboards, and the iconic Hollywood sign perched above Hollywood on Mount Lee in the Hollywood Hills area of the Santa Monica Mountains and you have a place which cries out to be photographed by any RV travelers who find themselves passing through the area. And photograph it I did. Oh, and they tried to keep me out but I strayed into Beverly Hills for a trip down Rodeo Drive; and I did it non-stop mostly because I couldn’t afford anything there anyway.
