Yellowstone National Park – Landscapes – Wyoming (2019)

When you think of Yellowstone National Park you conjure up visions of geysers, boiling mud pots and steaming pools of colorful water. But that is only a small portion of the 3,468 square miles that includes mountainous regions, vast plateaus and valleys, powerful rivers and waterfalls and the designation as the world’s first National Park. Set aside by the U.S. Congress on March 1, 1872 this region is above all a wilderness and most people who visit only see a small slice of the beautiful land that make up this park. In fact visitors generally see only the spectacular thermal features and miss out on the surrounding areas as they go from geyser basin to geyser basin.

Having the luxury of spending 28 days in the area I was able to slow down a bit and take in some of those places that others just speed by; this gallery is a representation of what I saw along the way.
