Lake Mead National Recreation Area – Nevada / Arizona (2019)

When I was in Las Vegas last year (2018) visiting my high school friend Tom we made the trip to Hoover Dam only to find that the damn bridge overlooking the dam was closed due to damn construction. This year we went back and had no such problem allowing us to get that incredible view of Hoover Dam we were seeking.

Just as incredible was getting to see a herd of Big Horn Sheep that had come down from the mountains to feast on grass in a public park outside of Lake Mead National Recreation Area; twenty to thirty sheep with a crowd of onlookers gave us the opportunity to see these magnificent animals up close!

What I didn’t bargain for while in Vegas was sitting through 6.9 and 7.1 magnitude earthquakes along with a multitude of smaller aftershocks. Last year I was chased out of California because of wildfires, this year I’m running from earthquakes…what’s next, locus?
