Keeneland Race Course National Historic Landmark – Kentucky (2019)

Built on this site in 1936 Keeneland Race Course is considered one of the top Thoroughbred racing facilities in the world. It includes two distinct divisions, the race course and the horse auction complex which is the world’s largest Thoroughbred action house. The track is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a National Historic Landmark.

The dirt and turf tracks have hosted a number of Grade I races including the 2015 Breeders’ Cup Classic (won by Triple Crown winner American Pharoah) and the yearly Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes. Keeneland will host the 2020 Breeders’ Cup Classic.
