Tucson Landmarks – Arizona

Images of Tucson Landmarks – Southern Arizona, taken in March 2019.

Each year during my down time in Tucson I look to take on a local photo project. In the last few years I’ve attended the Steampunk Convention, went to the Pima Air and Space Museum and documented some of the interesting murals painted throughout the city. This year I visited a local copper mine and was treated to a rare event for the southwest, a snow storm.

I still have some time left before I hit the road again so I made it a priority to travel around the area visiting some of the more notable Tucson Landmarks. These range from the early days of the city to the present and include objects from the University of Arizona, a very large part of the Tucson community, churches, distinctive banks designed by some famous architects and even my high school. Now you may think that I’m out of bounds pushing that last one on you but when you see the unique geometric design of Cholla High School I think you will agree that it belongs in this collection.

All items are shown in chronological order and each includes a short description to explain its significance.
