Yosemite National Park – Hetch Hetchy Valley – California (2018)

In the northwest corner of Yosemite National Park lies the Hetch Hetchy Valley; a valley once referred to by famed naturalist John Muir as “a wonderfully exact counterpart of the great Yosemite”. Today that valley contains a reservoir that has swallowed up that valley and we will never get that back but what stands above the water is a magnificent landscape of thousand-foot granite domes and cliffs that challenge the mind to imagine what this valley looked like before it was forever dammed.
