Napa Valley – California

Vineyard after vineyard dot the landscape for as far as the eye can see, grapes of all types and colors hanging heavy from the vines; wineries line the roadway, all offering tasting sessions; tourists and tasters drive up and down the road, stopping frequently for the rich, fermented nectar of the valley. This is the world famous Napa Valley in northern California.

Not to be different, we wanted to fit in of course, my friend Beth from Atlanta and I set off to do some tasting of our own. After getting some information and direction from the Winery Visitor Center in Napa (yes, that’s a thing!), we headed to the V. Sattui Winery. Our first stop was some food from their deli and then it was off to the tasting room. I’m not a wine drinker but surrounded by the deep dark wood in the large hall and all those bottles of wine, I found myself immersed in the wine tasting process; swish the wine around in the glass, smell the bouquet, taste…and repeat! And repeat! And repeat… I’ve always been process oriented, why stop now!
