A remote park, Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument required me to take off across 85 miles of dirt road, most of that just to get to there. The park is in the northwest corner of Arizona above the Grand Canyon. In fact passing through the park puts you in a remote part of Grand Canyon National Park at Tuweep where they actually have a small remote ranger station.

Along the way I made a stop at Nampaweap and hiked in to a beautiful collection of petroglyphs drawn on volcanic rock. Once again this is a wilderness park so I was only able to get into a very small portion of the park but what I saw and experienced was very special.
