Images of Flaming Gorge Scenic Byway – Northeastern Utah, taken in May 2016.
Created when the Flaming Gorge Dam was built; the Flaming Gorge Scenic Byway runs completely around the Red Canyon and Flaming Gorge area.
Several days earlier I spent hours in Dinosaur National Monument staking out an area hoping to see a Bighorn Sheep; now, just driving in the Red Canyon area there they were, two young Bighorn Sheep…or should I say two “small horn” Bighorn Sheep. The quest continues…
Later I was thoroughly impressed with the drive along the Sheep Creek Geological Loop. As I drove between the towering cliffs this area had spectacular rock formations and incredible views around every turn.

Wow this is so nice. I grew up camping in this area every year with my family. This is so nice to have all recorded. Thank you very much!! Debbie Huffman Hall
