2016 Interesting Stuff Along the Way (I SAW)

Until now all the images I have posted from my 2016 trip have fit into nice, well-organized galleries; a national park here or national monument there. But the real world isn’t that tidy and there were always places, sites and things that still needed…no demanded…to be photographed! With that in mind I have created this gallery which I call “Interesting Stuff Along the Way” or “I SAW” (corporate America would be proud of the fact that I can still crank out a useless acronym!).

The majority of these images were taken while I was riding around in the Subaru on the way to my chosen destinations. The reason for this is because once in the RV I only stopped when I had to get diesel; in the RV you don’t just slam on the breaks and pull over when you see something cool, you simply drive by the cool thing and acknowledge it by saying “that’s cool”. Consequently I missed shooting a lot of cool things; although that fact might please some of you when you scroll down to reveal this 100 image gallery! On the other hand I would like to think that there’s something here for everyone; the world’s largest pistachio, scenery, rockets, animals, cities, towns, sunsets, river rafters, bridges, dinosaurs, a burned-out car, the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series and some dude who had the foresight to bring a puppy to an auto race…pure genius!
