2015 Chicago Cubs Pregame

The Chicago Cubs were playing the St. Louis Cardinals in a key divisional rivalry game but almost any game here must take a backseat to the venue itself. In a world where flashy new high tech stadiums are all the rage, Wrigley is an oasis, a taste of baseball past. The old stadium, upgraded in the last few years, sits on the corner of Clark and Addison in the middle of a residential area; neighborhood bars and the “L” train all at her doorstep. Outside the stadium stand the statues of the Cubs greats, Banks, Williams and Santo along with the large marquee style sign above the main gate. Then you go inside and there’s the old manually operated scoreboard situated over the center field bleachers and the Ivy growing on the outfield wall; and everything is so close and cozy you feel like you are right on top of the field. It is a baseball mecca that every fan should experience!

And the only “game” that the stadium itself would take a backseat to…the one that wins a Cubs World Series!
