Images of sites while on the road – Southern Alaska, taken in July 2015.
One of my passions, along with travel and photography, is driving. I love being on the road with the freedom to go where I want and stop where I want. Throughout most of my trip through Alaska I was locked into a schedule, flights, trains, buses and tours. Most of that was unavoidable because of the accessibility issues surrounding the parks I was visiting. But now, for eight days, I was free again! Sure I had places to be but I could get to them on my own schedule.
So for eight days I drove, and was ferried, along some of the most beautiful highways in Alaska, the Seward and Sterling Highways on the Kenai Peninsula; ferried the car from Whittier to Valdez on the Alaska Marine Highway; and the Richardson and Glenn Highways from Valdez back to Anchorage.
