2014 Oregon Coast

Having traveled along the Oregon Coast several years ago as part of my trip down the Pacific Coast Highway I jumped at the chance to fly to Portland early for a business trip so I could spend the weekend driving the coast on Highway 101. I was lucky enough to catch the perfect weekend, clear skies and mild temperatures. This area is one of my favorite spots in the US with amazing vistas, lighthouses and abundant marine wildlife along every mile of the trip. I visited the tide pools and caught a sunset at Yaquina Head; stopped off at one of my favorite coastal cities, Cannon Beach and took in the amazing view of the lighthouse at Heceta Head where I was also lucky enough to see a pair of migrating gray whales.

How lucky was I…it became overcast and started raining on Monday!
