Washington DC

I chose to spend the last day of my trip walking among the buildings and monuments in Washington DC. I had been here before at a time when I had several days to spend visiting the museums and touring places like the US Capitol and the White House but this time my only goal was to photograph the major sites along the National Mall. I covered everything from the US Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial and the White House to the Jefferson Memorial. In between were monuments to Washington, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, Jr, the Vietnam and Korean War Veterans and a number of museums. Needless to say I didn’t come close to seeing everything there is to see. So the only thing left to do on this trip was to get myself into a forty mile long traffic jam as I headed to Richmond Virginia to fly home the next day!

Love these!I took the kids April 2013, and they loved it as well. The Washington Monument was being restored at the time and it had scaffolding all around it. Glad you got to see it finished!
