Shenandoah National Park – Virginia

Following the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains for a peaceful 105 mile journey runs Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. Punctuated by thick forest and scenic views of the valley below the park is alive with animals and flowering plants, all of which can be seen from your car. I took several hikes, the longest and most difficult being the one along the Rose River to Dark Hollow Falls, each of which highlighted the beauty of the park. Unfortunately the weather presented my biggest obstacle as haze and later thunderstorms made viewing and photographing the park a tough venture.
