Cuyahoga Valley National Park – Ritchie Ledges - Ohio

Nestled on the east side of Cuyahoga Valley National Park are the incredible cliffs and rock formations of Ritchie Ledges. I hiked across a wooded plateau with several open meadows until I came to the cliffs, jagged separations in the ground that exposed the earth below. As the trail worked its way deeper into the forest it went down along the ledges and around the plateau exposing me to the sheer cliffs and a multitude of rugged rock formations. Because of the thick growth the sunlight was scarce giving the area a dark and eerie feeling. Regardless, it was a truly enjoyable hike that fueled my curiosity and kept me wondering what would be around the next corner.
