Joshua Tree National Park – California

In Joshua Tree National Park lies the convergence of the Colorado and Mojave deserts. At the lower levels the Colorado Desert is made up of spiny plants like the Ocotillo and Cholla Cactus while in the higher elevations of the Mojave Desert the park namesake, the Joshua Tree, grows in abundance alongside the Mohave Yucca. As interesting as the varied plant life was, the surprises in this park were the incredible rockpile formations including Arch Rock and Scull Rock. Temperatures reached 106 degrees as the heat wave in the west continued…
